My childhood was full of these pull-back toy cars and I am a huge fan of them because of their various appearances and most of them are so so cute and attractive to me.

Before I disassembling two toy cars, there are some observations that help me to form a better understanding towards their inner structure. First thing is that they move in a similar way, which is after you pulling back the car for a certain distance, it have some mechanism to store the energy during this process and then transform that into the power of driving it move forwards. Other than that, other pieces should be decorations. And it’s clear that most pieces are screwed together because you can find those holes on the packaging.
During the process of disassembling, other than proving the observations are right, another important takeaway is that not all of the parts are screwed together, there are some certain decoration pieces are using concave and convex parts to mix things flexible. As a result, some of the joints, like the one between tomaton and top bun is moveablle. This is the missing part when I first try to record how those cars move. All my attentions are drawn to their mechanism.
